I’m not sure whether to classify it as science fiction or supernatural horror, as it has elements of both. If you’re a fan of either, check this one out. It’s a strange, yet compelling read.

Review: A Song for the Void (The Cosmic Horror Cycle) by Andrew C. Piazza
This isn’t a story about “magic” or “fantasy” as we think about it in modern terms, but more of an encounter with the supernatural—a force beyond our human perception, one we aren’t prepared to deal with and can’t fully comprehend.
Review: The Mortality Experiment by Halo Scot
The Mortality Experiment is classic Halo Scot. It’s dark, its brutal, it pulls at the heartstrings, and every single character has at least one demon haunting them.
THERE’S NO ESCAPIST|A HORROR REVIEW: The Insatiable Hunger of Trees by Samantha Eaton
A horror novel with real, relatable characters, high stakes you can feel, blood-soaked tension and action as well as a kick-ass monster, The Insatiable Hunger of Trees is perfect for fans of Stephen King, Nick Cutter and/or Grady Hendrix. Samantha Eaton has cemented herself as an instant read author for me and I can’t wait to see what she brings to the horror genre next.
THERE’S NO ESCAPIST|A HORROR REVIEW: Curse of the Reaper by Brian McAuley
Both a love letter to the slasher as well as an examination of the genre and it’s effects on those involved, Brian McAuley’s debut deserves a place among the classics that inspired it as well as his peers. If you’re a fan of Stephen Graham Jones and/or Grady Hendrix, check this out immediately. FEAR THE REA-PER REA-PER REA-PER!
THERE’S NO ESCAPIST|A HORROR REVIEW: My Heart is a Chainsaw (The Indian Lake Trilogy #1) by Stephen Graham Jones
There’s a song by Weezer called Heart Songs. In it, Rivers Cuomo sings about the songs that speak to his heart, that marked important moments in his life, or that helped shape him into the person he is. My Heart is a Chainsaw is my heart book. My new comfort read. My favorite book published in the past ten or so years. Maybe even longer. It reminds me that I’m not alone, that horror is awesome, and it’s just a bloody good time.
Review: Banished (Venari #1) by Lou Yardley
If you like horror or dark fantasy, creepy villages, or zombie apocalypse-type settings, definitely check out this book.
BOOK TOUR/REVIEW: Yellow Tape and Coffee by Pat Luther
Yellow Tape and Coffee is a fantastic hybrid of urban fantasy, horror and drama that will keep you guessing until the end. Secret societies, buried history, werewolves and conspiracies combine to create a suspenseful thrill-ride that will keep on the edge of your seat and guessing until it’s bloody conclusion. Pat Luther handles the vast array of characters with a deft hand and the skill some television writer’s rooms can’t muster. What are you waiting for? It won’t bite…
THERE’S NO ESCAPIST|A HORROR REVIEW: Black Mouth by Ronald Malfi
Black Mouth is perfect for fans of Stephen King, but NOT limited to that audience. Ronald Malfi’s prose flies off the page and really gets into the characters’ heads. Tackling childhood abuse, alcoholism, bullying and confronting the past, while providing plenty creeps and scares, Black Mouth is a tour-de-force of drama and horror.
THERE’S NO ESCAPIST|A HORROR REVIEW: The Troop by Nick Cutter
The Troop is without a doubt dark and over the top. It strives to make you squirm and succeeds in spades. My flesh crawled, my stomach turned, my heart raced and a few times, my eyes teared up. Beautiful and disturbing, Nick Cutter is a rising star in no-holds-barred horror, The Troop is a brilliant debut and I can’t wait to see what he does next.
Review: Tender Is The Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica
Blurb: Working at the local processing plant, Marcos is in the business of slaughtering humans —though no one calls them that anymore. His wife has left him, his father is sinking into dementia, and Marcos tries not to think too hard about how he makes a living. After all, it happened so quickly. First, it […]
