Samuel Gately, author of professional wrestling-inspired fantasy series, The Titan Wars, has written up a guest post for us today all about lessons in storytelling that he has learned through professional wrestling and how they can be applied to any story! Check it out below and be sure to check out his excellent novel The Headlock of Destiny! It’s one of my favorite books that I’ve read in recent memory and an excellent display of creativity and originality.

Guest Post: Sam Adams and How He Came to Be by Daniel Meyer
I’ve been interested in Credible Threats ever since I saw the incredible (heh) cover by Luke Tarzian last year. Due to my ever-growing TBR and a mountain of contest books I’ve had to read over the last year, I haven’t had a good opportunity to get into yet. I was delighted when the author agreed […]

Guest Post: Why I Do Horror by Tom Rimer
As I was a huge fan of his last book, Malevolent Nevers, I was honored to be asked to help participate in the launch celebration of Tom’s most recent release, Odious Ghouls. Since contest reading and well, life itself, has been getting in the way, I haven’t had a good opportunity to start in on it just yet, though I can hear it whispering to me from across the room. I’d say that’s a good sign that it’s time is about to come. In the meantime, I asked Tom to write a bit about why he was drawn to horror and why he writes in the genre. Enjoy his beautifully demented response below!

Book Tour/Guest Post: How I Came Up With the Devil of an AI by J. Elizaga
I joined a Hollywood pitch conference in 2017, before Penchant for Darkness had been fully fleshed out, to see if my pitch would catch interest. It did, and a production company asked for my synopsis. I was elated, my story caught someone’s eye. However, two months later, I received a rejection email. They would pass […]
Book Tour/Guest Post: Writing in the Sci-Fi Trope By K. Pimpinella
Tropes are everywhere. It’s almost impossible not to fall victim to at least one or two in your storytelling. So the questions become, how and why are these tropes new. And these answers come from the characters. Time-travel is an oft used trope, but it can differ based on the mechanics of how it works […]
Book Tour/Guest Post: Xanthcraft: How I Created a Magic System By A.E. Bennett
“How do you go about creating a new and interesting magic system?” You know, this question was harder to answer than I thought. I’m currently working on the first draft of my third romance in The Serrulata Saga, which will be the fifth book in the series overall. Now that I’m so deep into this […]

Book Tour-Mini Guest Post/Spotlight: On Fae by S.L. Choi
On Fae Vampires and fae compete for my favorite supernatural. Obviously, I had to combine them! I’ve always been fascinated with mythology. My favorite series are the ones that blend myth with a new mythos (Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews for instance). I knew I wanted to blend my own version of fae with real […]
