Ridge is stuck between the sadistic Balty and the desire to control his own life. His magical gifts become entangled with those around him, pulling him between opposing forces. When his path crosses that of the Star Children, he must decide whose side he is on.
Meanwhile, we learn that while the twin Star Children are hoping to find the Star People, the Star People of Turya are desperately seeking the Star Children as well. Their stories interweave as the mythology of the Star Children unfolds.
A compelling expansion of the Star Children Saga.

Character Q&A
Could you please introduce yourself to our readers?
People call me Ridge. I own the largest mine and the second largest spaceport on the moon.
What music do you listen to?
I don’t listen to music.
What are 3 items you can’t live without?
My speedster. My privacy. Um … can’t think of a third thing. I’m a simple man.
If you were stranded on a deserted island, what is one thing you’d like to have with you?
My lab.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Balty. He’s like a thief who sneaks into your house and won’t leave. In fact, it’s exactly like that.
What do you do in your free time?
I invent things.
What makes you want to get out of bed in the morning?
To get out of the house before Balty gets up.
What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?
My grandmother once told me that everyone is looking out for themselves and will use you to get what they want. Turns out that’s pretty accurate.
What do you carry in your bag?
I don’t carry a bag. My face is my passport and my wallet. Unless I’m Jidna, then I carry gold and food to bribe people with.
What’s your favorite animal?
There are no animals on the moon. Well I guess there are some birds in the greenhouse. I guess they are my favorite. They remind me of Earth.
What do you think about Gabira?
Not much. But her daughters, now, that’s another story.
If you could go anywhere in the universe, where would you go and why?
I think I’d go to Delos, and maybe this time I wouldn’t come back.
What do you do to relax?
I invent stuff. I’m working on an explosive device right now. I find working on the trigger mechanism relaxing because it takes total concentration and I forget about everything else.
What is your favorite food?
You know, people make a big deal about food. I eat because I have to. Now the fact that Balty is starving out the moon rats in Peary Dome makes me feel guilty for caring so little about food.
What is your favorite season?
There are no seasons on the moon, but there are the 14 days of light and the 14 days of darkness. I prefer the dark days.
How would you define happiness?
Like food, happiness is overrated. I think happiness a myth the ruling class made up to control people. When you come right down to it, life is about survival, and there’s not much happiness to be had when you’re always worrying about things like air and water. There can be moments of pleasure with sex, but that’s different from happiness.
What are you passionate about?
I think I’m pretty passionate about the oxygenator I invented. It’s quite a piece of technology, converting moon dust to oxygen. It’s pretty sweet, actually.
How do you feel about your government?
There is no government on the moon, and I like it that way.
If you could change one thing about the moon, what would it be?
I would get rid of Balty.
What’s your biggest secret?
I’ve never been in love.
What do you hate?
The Tegs.
What’s your biggest fear?
Losing my land.
What do you think your best quality is?
I’m very rational. And creative—but in a rational sort of way.
How would you describe the world you live in?
The last outpost of freedom.
