Born of magic, Nerana is labeled a demon and forced into hiding by the Order of Saro. Living with a curse that binds her to their leader, Nerana seeks to free herself from their hold and soon learns that the path to redemption may prove more fatal than the Order itself.
But for Nerana, this is more than a quest for survival… It’s a promise of revenge
Review:
Before a reader begins this novel, it is a requirement to take a few deep breaths and relax. Once the first page is read, it is a breakneck tale of action, adventure, and found family to the very end. The reader is thrown right into the middle and the action begins immediately. A warning to readers, it never lets up, which is a fantastic thing for many. This book will fly by as it has several heart pounding moments, each cleverly done and easily visualized. This is a novel that will not want to be missed, the beginning to something epic.
The strength of this novel is easily the characters. The initial trio immediately latches on to a readers mind and never let go. Each are individual and unique, with their own views of the world, even as they traverse towards a common goal. The individuality of the characters continue as the book goes, making it difficult for a reader to have a favorite. The world is well done but we are only given a tiny amount of lore and history. I believe that the author will continue to enhance and build upon the structure that was started. The world building that is done, is great and makes a reader want to know more. A small warning to some, there are footnotes that help with this. I personally don’t mind this at all, and they are not overly long or too many that it is overwhelming.
This book will cater to many different types of readers. Dark, adventurous, and characters to root for all add up to one amazing read. It is also a book that allows for speculation and theories, causing me to think about the book for a long time. This is a series that holds a lot of promise, with sequels available to immediately dive into. Needless to say, I highly recommend this one for an exciting adventure that will stay with you for days to come.
Thanks for taking the time to read my review. As always, happy reading and Stay Great!!
