Review:
Disclaimer: I received an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.
This a fast action packed read. It has a werewolf element that was really well done and interesting to read about. There is a lot that happens to each of the main characters, making them advance very rapidly as they discover who they are and what they will become. A lot of the backstory is set up through reminiscing, making the reader want to know more of how it came to be. The writing is smooth and polished, allowing the reader to easily put themselves into the world that the author has created.
The strength of the novel was the main character, Selene. She is well thought out and has some character flaws that make her interesting to read about. The chapters that she was the main focus, flew by and were very engaging. To me, the pacing of this novel felt a little off. The time that passed didn’t seem to sync up as we switched viewpoints and it became a point of disconnect for me. The pacing was also a little interrupted by some of the things being told to the reader rather than explained from the eyes of the characters.
Overall, this novel was very entertaining. It is a dark tale that will hit the right notes with readers who like a good werewolf tale full of bloody action fights. There is a lot more history and lore that can be explored, either in the future or from past tales that would explain more about the werewolves.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review. As always, happy reading and Stay Great!!
