Blurb:
Follow the law and you’ll stay safe. But what if the law is wrong?
Tashué’s faith in the law is beginning to crack.
Three years ago, he stood by when the Authority condemned Jason to the brutality of the Rift for non-compliance. When Tashué’s son refused to register as tainted, the laws had to be upheld. He’d never doubted his job as a Regulation Officer before, but three years of watching your son wither away can break down even the strongest convictions.
Then a dead girl washed up on the bank of the Brightwash, tattooed and mutilated. Where had she come from? Who would tattoo a child? Was it the same person who killed her?
Why was he the only one who cared?
Will Tashué be able to stand against everything he thought he believed in to get the answers he’s looking for?
Review:
Legacy of the Brightwash has a mystery that will draw you in with a magic and political system that make for an interesting world. The world is a dark place, full of injustices and other social issues that take a magnifying glass to what could be occurring in our world. The feelings emitted in this book will hit you hard and it is unforgiving. The strength of the writing from this author is how she is able to emit those emotions in the eyes of the reader.
I had moments where this book hit all of the right spots, but there are times where the characters felt different. The one thing I wanted a lot more of was some structure to the magic system. The Talent plays a huge part of the book, but it feels as if it becomes just a healing tool. There are hints that there could be more and I am sure that the author has big plans for this in the future. The strength is the emotional journey that the reader is taken on.
Legacy of the Brightwash will take your breath away, emit tears from the deepest part of your soul, and then make your jaw drop with each passing page. The author is invested in her world, and it shows with the passion that she writes with. There is a lot that readers will enjoy in this world as well as being shattered from the overwhelming emotions.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review!! As always, happy reading and Stay Great!!
